Benjamin Porter House Full View
ABOUT

ABOUT

The Benjamin Porter House is a beautifully restored 1805 Federal home. Named for Civil War hero Benjamin Porter, the house is a historical landmark and one of the oldest in the Village of Skaneateles. Its history is kept on file at the town's historical society, The Creamery. Guests are welcome to relax on any one of three porches or walk the property to enjoy the tranquil gardens, fountains and tall Maple and Oak trees.

Within the walls, make use of an extensive library or sit by the marble fireplace in the living room to enjoy a quiet place to read or work. Original oil paintings by founder, Katherine Burke, are found throughout the home. Each bedroom is tastefully appointed with fine linens, private full bathrooms and furniture befitting a home of the 19th century. While historic, the home provides numerous modern amenities, to include wireless internet throughout the house and a flat-screen television in every bedroom.

The Benjamin Porter House is in a perfect location to see scenic and historic Village. This Skaneateles Lake Bed and Breakfast is a moments walk from charming shops, specialty food stores, a variety of restaurants and Skaneateles Lake, one of the jewels of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. We invite you to take a virtual tour of our home and look forward to meeting you soon.
